Peak Re names Reynolds & Souter Co-Heads of P&C, as Kershaw to retire

Peak Reinsurance Company Limited (Peak Re), the Hong Kong headquartered, Fosun backed global reinsurer, has named Iain Reynolds and Andy Souter as Co-Heads of P&C business, as Chris Kershaw is set to retire from the company in early April.

Kershaw, currently Managing Director, Global Markets and Co-Head of P&C at Peak Re, is set to retire from the company on April 2nd 2021 after more than 8 years of service for the reinsurance firm.

Kershaw is going to remain connected and supportive of Peak Re though and will take on an advisory role at the company after his retirement.

“On behalf of my colleagues and the management team, I would like to thank Chris for his contribution, commitment and leadership over the past years,” Franz Josef Hahn, Chief Executive Officer of Peak Re commented.

“Being one of the early founding members of Peak Re, Chris has been a key member in building the company with his strategic views and insights. Chris is well respected by our clients and business partners, I am delighted that he will take on an advisory role at Peak Re after his retirement.”

Peak Re is then making Iain Reynolds and Andy Souter Co-Heads of P&C from April 1st, positioning two insiders to take on the joint-leadership of its property and casualty underwriting division.

“In announcing these appointments, we demonstrate the breadth of experience we have, which will serve to drive our business in the future. Together, Iain and Andy will lead the development of our global P&C reinsurance business, to carry forward the high service levels, innovation and culture for which Peak Re has become known,” Hahn added.

Reynolds is currently Peak Re’s Director and Head of Analytics, a position he held since 2016.

He has more than 20 years of experience across international reinsurance, and has specialised in catastrophe risk analysis and risk transfer.

Souter joined Peak Re in November 2020 as Director of Markets. Prior to that he was Head of Capital for an MGA in London, and before was the Head of APAC in London for a major global reinsurance broker.
